2009 6 Cylinder Thunder Stock
No
equipment will
be considered ass having been approved by reason of having
passed through inspection unobserved.
The technical
director shall determine as to whether any type of
construction,
design or
interpretation of any rule shall be accepted.
This track
reserves the right to update, modify, add, or delete rules
at any time in the interest of providing parity for all
competitors.
Additional
requirements may be made via official entry registration,
technical bulletin, or meeting announcement, which
automatically amends specifications herein.
All persons must be approved
for competition by the management. Any person may be denied
the ability to compete in this division, based solely upon
the opinion of management of Wiscasset Raceway, after review
of the skills and abilities of such a person as they relate
to an entry level division of competition.
The management
reserves the right to disallow any person from competing in
this division in the interest of fair completion in any
entry level division.
All cars must be neat
appearing.
Cars should be
painted with contrasting colors and appropriate lettering
and numbers.
Cars
must be front-wheel drive, with a minimum 103.5 inch
wheelbase.
Cars must be 1990 or newer
American manufactured only which is limited to General
Motors Ford and Chrysler
Foreign auto
companies manufacturing cars in the United States are not
considered American manufactured.
Cars must be 6-cylinder,
fuel-injected motor models, stock for the year, make and
model car being used.
No dual cam
motors.
Only
automatic transmission cars are allowed.
Cars
must be of strut front-end suspension.
Turbo or supercharged engines are not allowed.
Only
front wheeled drive vehicles are allowed.
One and half inch of positive
camber in a manner that will prevent their loss during
competition.
Bumpers may
not be reinforced to add strength and rigidity to them.
A
support bar may extend between the strut towers, up and
across the motor and may be attached by steel plates that
are mounted to the stock mounting bolts and holes.
All window glass except the
stock windshield must be removed
Glass should
be completely removed from the vehicle before arriving at
the track, and all fragments of glass must be completely
cleaned from the vehicle.
Lexan windshield replacements
are allowed.
All
installations must fit into the original recessed area of
the windshield frame and be attached with pop rivets to
provide a stock appearance.
All
installations are subject to the tech inspector’s approval.
All accessory glass including
reflectors, headlights, side mirrors, etc.
must be
removed.
One exterior drivers side
mirror limited to five (5) inches in diameter is allowed.
This mirror is
not to extend beyond the exterior of the car body.
Only
a single, stock rear view mirror mounted in the original
center location either on the windshield or the roll cage
overhead bar is permitted.
All
unnecessary screws, body chrome and side molding must be
removed.
Stock muffler must remain in
place in order to attain minimum noise levels.
Dual exhausts
are allowed using original exhaust manifolds and the stock
mufflers.
Tail pipes
must exit at the rear of the vehicle.
Glass pack
style mufflers are not allowed.
All
doors must be welded or chained and bolted securely shut.
Stock rear and front bumpers
must remain in place and must be fastened to the vehicle in
a manner that will prevent there loss during competition.
Bumpers may
not be reinforced to add strength or rigidity to them.
Vehicles with T-top roofs or
convertible tops are not permitted.
Vehicles with
sunroofs must have the glass removed and the remaining roof
hole must be securely covered with sheet metal on both the
top and the underside.
Trailer hitches are not permitted.
Antifreeze/engine coolants or other glycol-based liquids are
strictly prohibited.
Cars
must not have excessive leakage of any fluids, including
brake fluid, transmission fluid, fuel and motor oil.
Passenger side inner door
upholstery must be removed to accommodate the installation
of the required roll cage.
Complete stock
inner door structure must remain in place.
Driver side inner door panel may be removed to allow
installation of bowed horizontal cage bars that may be used
between the front and rear upright bars.
Stock hood and trunk under panels must remain in place.
Approved racing seats
mandatory must meet safety installation approval by the
technical staff.
Racing seats
must be bolted into the original position of the stock seat.
Absolutely no
allowances will be permitted for moving steering columns,
foot pedals, seat set-back, etc., in order to accommodate a
racing seat installation.
An approved
five-way racing safety harness is required.
Racing seat
must have double headrest.
One on each
side of seat.
A supportive seat brace must
be installed in back of the seat to provide support to seat
back.
The brace
should consist of two horizontal bars attached to a point on
the roll cage and running forward to a piece of flatbar
resting against the back of the seat.
The
center of the steering wheel must be padded.
Quick-release steering
couplings are allowed.
If used, the
plastic steering column housing must remain in place.
Only about two
inches of the housing may be cut away in order to weld the
quick-release coupling onto the steering shaft.
When complete,
the plastic housing should abut up to the quick release unit
itself.
The steering
shaft must remain its original length and must be left in
the original stock location.
After market
steering wheels are not permitted.
The original,
stock steering wheel must be used and adapted too .
Rear bottom seat cushion and
rear set back cushion must be removed.
Any holes in
the rear seat back shelf must be covered with sheet metal.
Aluminum
patches are not permitted.
Original stock floorboards
must remain in place.
Any holes
existing in the floorboard must be covered with sheet metal.
Floor upholstery must be removed.
Front springs must be the same
from side to side.
No cutting
heating of springs allowed.
Real
springs must be the same from side to side.
Batteries must remain in
original, stock location.
Batteries may
be boxed, strapped or otherwise additionally secured to
prevent their loss as long as the method does not reinforce
any part of the vehicle.
Tops
of batteries must be covered in a manner that will prevent
fill caps from dislodging.
A five-way racing safety
harness is required.
The mounting
of a five-way harness system is subject to speedway
approval.
A driver’s side racing window
net is required.
One end must
be securely fastened to the roll cage.
The other end
must be quick releasing using a se4at belt-type fastener.
Window net installations are subject to speedway approval.
Racing fuel cells are
optional.
If running
stock gas tank must be in front of rear wheels and must have
a skid plate.
Fuel cells may
not be more than 15 gallons in capacity.
Any fuel cells
must be securely fastened with minimum 2 inch by 1/8-inch
metal straps inside the trunk of the vehicle.
No cutting of
floorboards or spare tire compartments is allowed when
installing a fuel cell, must be centered in trunk.
Everything about the vehicle
must remain stock for the year, make and model of vehicle
being used.
Except as
permitted or required herein.
Vehicles must
remain completely stock
in appearance,
configuration, set-up and running gear, including motors,
transmissions and rear ends.
Any variances
from this guideline will result in disallowance of
competition until the variance is corrected, solely at the
discretion of raceway management.
WHEELS:
Wheels are
limited to stock street wheels for make and model.
All wheels
must be of same make and style.
Must have same
back spacing on all wheels.
One-inch lug
nuts are permitted.
TIRES:
Only D.O.T.
70, 65 and 60 series radial tires are allowed.
Tires must be
stock, steel-type D.O.T. tires
Tires must have a wear rating
factor of no less than 350.
The wear
rating factor must be clearly identifiable on the sidewall
of the tire.
Tires not
clearly identified by the wear rating factor on the sidewall
are subject to disqualification and or confiscation.
Tires must have regular street
tire tread pattern, as determined solely be race officials.
No high
performance tires allowed.
Shaving of tire rubber is not allowed.
Altered or buffed sidewalls are not allowed.
Goodyear RS-A tires are not allowed.
No retreads are allowed.
All tires are
subject to raceway tech approval and or restrictions.
No tire softener allowed.
If caught with
tire softener you will lose all points to that date.
The track has
the right to make stiffer penalty if deemed necessary.
The rules and or regulations
set forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly
conduct of racing to establish minimum acceptable
requirements for such events.
These rules
shall govern the conditions for all events and by
participating in these events all participants are deemed to
have obtained and read and understood a copy of the current
rules and complied with these rules.
NO EXPRESSED
OR IMPLIED WOARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM PUBLICATION
OF OR COMPLIANCE WITH THESE GUIDELINES AND OR REGULATIONS.
They are
intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and are in
no way a guarantee against injury or death to a participant,
spectator or official.
It
is the responsibility of the competitor to obtain and become
familiar with the current rules pertaining to the division
in which he/she chooses to participate.
Note:
All illegal
parts will become the property of Wiscasset Raceway.
If you do not
surrender illegal parts you will not race until you do
