At a glance Tasha
Dyer is like any 15 year old girl. She is a
sophomore at
Morse High School.
She plays basketball and softball and can be
found most anytime texting her friends, chatting
online and listening to
Taylor Swift.
What most don’t now about the young Arrowsic
girl is that she is a full time driver in
Wiscasset
Raceways
Aable Auto Parts
Mini Stock division. That’s right, she races
against the boys.
In 2007 Tasha
started racing in Wiscasset Raceways Teen
Division. That year she learned a lot of the
basics on her way to 2 Feature Victories to go
along with 1 Heat win she picked up driving a
green and orange colored Honda. Then in 2008
with no Teen Division to race, Tasha jumped
right into the Mini Stocks. She started the year
by purchasing Tyler Robbins championship winning
Chevy Cavalier.
Early on in 2008 Tasha decided to show everybody
what she was going to be running in the up
coming year by bringing her car to the racin’
preview. The car looked great! It was the same
black and
orange paint scheme
that her Uncle (Mike Orr) had used on his Late
Model in 2005 when he picked up the
championship. Once the season started there were
no disappointments has Tasha finished 5th
in points with 1 Heat win, 2 top 3 finishes and
8 top 5’s. With those stats has a rookie and
wanting to help the division grow Tasha had this
to say to the youngsters that might be looking
into getting behind the wheel “ Don’t be
intimidated by the veteran’s and don’t be
afraid, just drive like everyone else”.
Tasha’s plans for
2009 are pretty straight forward. With the help
of Ed Orr,
Jeremy Reed,
Josh Tardiff,
Ryan Barnes,
Tyler Robbins, Wayne Ambrose JR and her mom,
Tasha wants to have her C&S Flooring and Orr &
Son Auto Body Chevy in the top 3 in points when
the final
checkered flag
falls on Aable Auto Parts Mini Stock Division at
Wiscasset Raceway this year. The young lady’s
plans don’t stop there though. By her senior
year in high school she would like to be running
in the Super Streets at the center of speed and
after graduating in 2011 she would like to
attend
NASCAR
Technical Institute in
Mooresville, NC
and get involved in NASCAR.
