TRACK HISTORY
Wiscasset Speedway (original name) was built by Wilford
Cronk of Wiscasset in 1968 and opened for racing for the
1969 season. According to a news article, the original
pavement went down in October 1968.
Dave and Sandra St. Clair purchased the track in 1991 and
changed the name to Wiscasset Raceway.
On July 20th, 2007 Doug and Becky White and family purchased
the track. Within a few short weeks fans began to see many
changes take place, from a newly designed logo, track
officials in uniform, a weekly racing program, Live "Raceside"
TV, the return of Pro Stocks and the formation of a Mini
Truck division Nearly a hundred businesses have agreed to
partner with "Wiscasset Raceway Promotions" in making this
an amazing transition in only a little over a month. And
the story goes on......... |
